  • A singular noun names one person, place, idea, or thing.

  • A plural noun names more than one person, place, idea, or thing.

  • Most plural nouns are formed by adding -s or -es.

  • A noun can function in a sentence as a subject, a direct object of anaction verb, or an object of a preposition.
