Parts of Speech
2
Objective
SWABT identify, use and analyze parts of speech and figurative language.
3
Take Away
As writers understanding parts of speech is a helpful way to look at words to help you understand the underlying grammar and logic of any language you study. Figurative language refers to the color we use to amplify our writing. It takes an ordinary statement and dresses it up in an evocative frock. It gently alludes to something without directly stating it. Figurative language is a way to engage your readers, guiding them through your writing with a more creative tone.
