Read the Passage:
Joseph Pulitzer is the name behind the Pulitzer Prizes. 2) He was born in Hungary, a country in Central Europe. 3) He came to the United States to fill in for an American soldier who was drafted. 4) This soldier did not want to fight in the civil war, so Pulitzer took his place. 5) He spent one year in the military in Boston. 6) Then, he made his way to Missouri where he did many different jobs such as baggage handler and waiter. 7) During this time, he studied English and the law.
