Fallacies

• It’s a reasoning that is logically invalid, or that undermines the logical validity of an argument 

• Flaws within the logic or reasoning of an argument 

• There’s something in that statement, that makes the statement wrong

All forms of human communication can contain fallacies, some may be intentional, as the person making the claim is desperate to convince you to accept his or her argument

• A flaw in the structure of the argument 

• A flaw in the substance of the argument

   Premise: All black bears are omnivores.

      Premise: All raccoons are omnivores. 

      Conclusion: All raccoons are black bears.

"Nobody has ever proved to me there's a God, so I know there is no God". 

• Also called the over-generalization fallacy

• Making a claim based on evidence that is just too small
