In Verona, the Montagues and Capulets are feuding. Romeo, a Montague, is lovesick over Rosaline but falls for Juliet, a Capulet, at a party. They secretly marry, but after Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeo kills Tybalt and is banished. Juliet fakes her death to avoid marrying Paris, but the plan fails.
