What student data does Wayground collect?

Accounts are not a prerequisite to using Wayground, but are required to access some features and to save progress over time. If a student account is created, saved information will include things like an email address, a parent or guardian email address (in limited cases), first name, and last name.

How is my data shared? Does Wayground ever sell user data?

Data is never sold or rented to third parties. Wayground only shares your personal information when it is necessary to offer the service, comply with law, or with your permission. For example, it may be shared with limited third-party services essential for Wayground's operation, but these services can't use your information for other purposes. How long is my data retained?

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. In most cases, we delete user accounts if they have been inactive for more than twelve months. If you have an account, you can update or delete it any time at wayground.com/settings

Is my data encrypted?

Yes, we use industry-standard encryption to protect your data both in transit and at rest. This ensures that your personal information remains secure and private.

How does Wayground ensure accessibility compliance?

Wayground is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We follow the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) guidelines, which document our compliance with accessibility standards such as Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). How can I manage my data?

You have the right to delete, access, update, correct errors in, and export for transfer any of your personal information. You may delete your account or update your information at any time by visiting wayground.com/settings

How does Wayground protect student data?

Engaging every student starts with trust. We use technical, operational, and logical security measures to keep student data safe. Learn about these measures here.

Can parents and guardians manage their child's data on Wayground?

Parents and guardians can log in to their child’s account and have the right to delete or update their child’s information at any time by visiting wayground.com/settings

Does Wayground AI interact with student data?

Wayground AI solely uses the inputs teachers provide to generate content for your lessons and quizzes. Just like the rest of Wayground, we keep your and your students' personal data untouched. OpenAI does not use any of your personal data for training its models. We retain the content you input solely to generate quizzes and provide you with the best possible results. Additionally, Wayground AI checks for copyrights before using publicly available material.
