Texas CTE Standards Assessment Aligned to TEKS and TEA Requirements
Texas operates one of the largest CTE systems in the country. Wayground aligns its certification prep, AI-generated assessments, and readiness reports to the Texas TEKS, TEA career clusters, and the state IBC list — supporting CCMR accountability and Perkins V reporting.
Understanding the Texas CTE Framework
Texas organizes CTE around the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) — state-mandated curriculum standards for every CTE course. In 2025, SBOE approved revised TEKS for multiple career clusters with an August 2025 effective date. Universal Employability Skills Standards (Level 1–2 and Level 3–4) also took effect in 2025–26.
Wayground CTE maps its practice sets and AI-generated assessments to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Career and Technical Education across all 14 TEA-defined career clusters. The platform supports certification prep for industry-based certifications (IBCs) on the TEA-approved IBC list — including CompTIA Tech+ (formerly ITF+), OSHA 10-Hour, NCCER Core, and ServSafe — which count toward Texas CCMR accountability indicators and Perkins V technical skill attainment metrics.
