Statement of the Problem
Based on the results of the pilot study, the problem of the
current study could be stated as follows:
First-year preparatory school students have poor EFL
listening and speaking skills. This might be due to the
traditional methods of teaching listening and speaking
used by teachers; students' lack of vocabulary,
mispronouncing words, and not using grammatical
structures properly. Additionally, the amount of time
dedicated to listening and speaking is limited
compared
to
other
skills.
Therefore,
this
study
attempted to answer the following main question:

In the name of Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful.
First and foremost, I am thankful to Almighty ALLAH for giving me
the strength, knowledge, ability, and opportunity to complete
this study satisfactorily.
Pursuing an MS. project is a both painful and enjoyable
experience. It’s just like climbing a high peak, step by step,
accompanied
with
bitterness,
hardships,
frustration,
Encouragement, and trust and with so many people’s kind help.
When I found myself at the top enjoying the beautiful scenery, I
realized that it was, in fact, teamwork that got me there.
Though it will not be enough to express my gratitude in words to
all those people who helped me, I would still like to give my
many, many thanks to all these people.

THANK YOU
Special thanks are also given to Prof Dr. Hajar Al Tounisi,
the professor of Curriculum and Teaching Methods
“English”, at Helwan University.I was speechless by the
gentle way of her responses and cooperation to help me as
she could due to my situation. It is not sufficient to express
my gratitude with only a few words.
16
THANK YOU!
I am very grateful for my mother. Her understanding and her love
encouraged me to work hard and to continue pursuing a Ph.D.
project abroad. Her firm and kind-hearted personality has affected
me to be steadfast and never bend to difficulty. She always lets me
know that she is proud of me, which motivates me to work harder
and do my best.
17
THANK YOU!
Last but not least, I am greatly indebted to my devoted Wife DR.
Ghada Rashad my son Ali . They form the backbone and origin of
my happiness. Their love and support without any complaint or
regret has enabled me to complete this MS. project. Being both a
father and mother while I was away was not an easy thing for my
wife .. I owe my every achievement to both of them.
18
I do not claim that I have achieved perfection, that I am
infallible from error. Perfection is for God alone, and it is as if
God had refused infallibility except for His Book, as Ibn Rajab al-
Hanbali - may God have mercy on him - said. However, I tried
to work hard, and this is my effort in your hands. If it is accepted,
then it is from God’s grace upon me, and if I am correct, it is
from God, and if it is not, It suffices me that I have tried and
worked hard. O God, grant me sincerity in my intentions, words,
and deeds, and our last supplication is that praise be to God,
Lord of the Worlds.

Thank You
