Why would some streams and rivers cause more erosion and deposition than others?

​Eventually, canyons and valleys will form.

​A flat area formed from many layers of deposited sediment when a river runs over its banks. This can signal the age of a river valley with the older being flatter with many meanders and oxbow lakes.
