What is a risk assessment used for

• To identify any risks and hazards in the workplace and put control measures in place to help prevent harm

• To see how much it costs to keep workers safe from harm

• To identify any hazards in the workplace so they can be removed and so they don't harm anyone

• To be used to see who is working safely

What is safety?

• Harmful condition sustained by the body

• The condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury

• Unexpected or unplanned event which may or may not result in injury or damage

What Is Hazard?

• Any source of potential damage, harm or adverse health effects on something or someone.

• Physical injury or damage to health.

• Hazard = How great the chances are of someone getting hurt

  Risk = Anything that causes harm
