The Georgia CTAE Framework

17 clusters, 145+ pathways, and an EOPA at the end of every third-level course.

EOPA

End-of-Pathway Assessments

Students take EOPAs in the third-level course of most CTAE pathways. Assessments are linked directly to industry standards per Perkins legislation. Many EOPAs result in industry-recognized credentials. Results are reported to GaDOE through Georgia Insights. Assessment codes were last updated February 2025.

Pathway Structure

Three-Level Course Sequences

Georgia CTAE students complete a pathway by progressing through a three-level course sequence in their chosen career area. Wayground's AI generator supports formative assessment at all three levels — not just in the EOPA year — helping students build competency progressively through the pathway.

TCSG/USG Credit

College Credit Through CTAE

Students who complete a CTAE pathway and pass the EOPA at a designated level may earn college credit recognized by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and University System of Georgia (USG). Certain CTAE courses also satisfy the 4th science requirement for a traditional high school diploma.

Supported Georgia EOPA Credentials

Each certification Wayground supports is connected to EOPA-associated credentials across Georgia's CTAE pathways.

Georgia CTAE Accountability

EOPA Pass Rates Drive the 98.45% Advantage

Georgia's CTAE accountability is built around EOPA results. Districts with higher EOPA pass rates produce more pathway completers with industry credentials — which drives the 98.45% graduation rate. Every investment in EOPA preparation is an investment in the outcome that defines Georgia CTAE's national model status.

4th Science Credit Through CTAE

For 2025–26, certain CTAE courses satisfy the 4th science requirement for a traditional high school diploma — increasing enrollment in CTAE pathways. More students taking EOPAs means districts need scalable, engaging assessment prep tools. Wayground supports increased EOPA volume without increased preparation burden on teachers.

EOPA Readiness Reporting

Wayground's reports identify EOPA readiness by student and pathway, provide pathway-level dashboards across the district, surface specific competency gaps before assessment windows, and forecast how many students are on track to earn their EOPA-associated credential.

Why Georgia Districts Choose Wayground

Built for the Pathway Model

Wayground's structure mirrors Georgia's pathway model. Content is organized by career cluster and pathway, and readiness reporting tracks students through the pathway sequence — from first-level courses through the third-level EOPA. The platform mirrors the way Georgia CTE actually works.

Gamification Drives EOPA Readiness

Georgia CTE students engage more with EOPA preparation when it includes game mechanics. Wayground's leaderboards, streaks, and competitive review modes turn EOPA prep into an activity students choose to do — increasing practice volume and readiness in the crucial weeks before assessment windows.

Teachers Already Know Wayground

The vast majority of Georgia schools already use Wayground. CTE teachers can add certification prep and EOPA practice to their existing workflow without learning a new platform, going through procurement, or training staff on a new system.

Supporting the 98.45% Graduation Advantage

Georgia CTAE pathway completers already graduate at 98.45%. Wayground helps districts maintain and extend this advantage by ensuring more students successfully complete their pathways with passing EOPA scores and earned credentials that open doors to postsecondary education and employment.

Fund Wayground with Perkins V

Georgia administers Perkins V through GaDOE's CTAE division. Under Section 135, districts can use local funds for assessment tools supporting EOPA preparation and industry credential attainment — including Wayground.
