Across the country, hundreds of thousands of teachers use Wayground (formerly Quizizz) in their classrooms. This year, we ran the numbers to recognize the top 50 teachers in each state. These educators didn’t just use Wayground often; they used it well. They found high-quality resources, made learning more accessible, and created real moments of student joy.
That kind of dedication deserves recognition.
Here’s what these educators shared about their students, their classrooms, and how Wayground supports their teaching and school-wide goals.
💖 Real impact on students & classrooms
From motivation to accessibility, teachers share the impact Wayground has made a meaningful difference for their students.
“Wayground has had a transformative impact on my classroom… Students are intrinsically motivated to excel to demonstrate their mastery to peers, which drives genuine pursuit of excellence. This heightened engagement leads to deeper focus, better retention, and consistently stronger learning outcomes and test scores.”
- Kevin Doan, math teacher at Humboldt Junior Senior High School, Tennessee
“Wayground accommodations gave my students the support they needed to feel confident taking risks. For several of them, it was the first time they saw themselves on the leaderboard, and that success motivated them to stay engaged and keep trying.”
- Michael Rockwell, science teacher at Coventry High School, Rhode Island
👩🏫 What excellent teaching looks like
For our Top 50 teachers, excellent teaching means having a variety of high quality resources and tailoring instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
“Excellent teachers plan for the unexpected and have a toolbox of resources. Wayground has allowed me to have a toolbox of review and practice opportunities for students. As they continue to build more, I find even more uses for it in my classroom.”
- Tiffany Jones, science teacher at Rockdale County High School, Georgia
“Excellent teaching means knowing your students well, meeting them where they are, and helping them grow with confidence. Wayground supports that by giving me immediate insight into what students understand and where they’re stuck, so I can adjust instruction right away. It keeps learning active, low-pressure, and student-centered—exactly the environment I strive to create.”
- Angela H., science teacher at Billings Senior High School, Montana
“Excellent teaching means teaching and reaching each student at their individual learning level while including them in the classroom learning. Wayground has supported this process with ease and confidentiality.”
- Kimberly Pepin, english teacher at Verndale Elementary School, Minnesota
🎯 Supporting school-wide goals

“Wayground allows for practice and remediation for all types of subject matter and in my math classes. I am able to utilize grade levels below the ones I teach to help the learners that need more intervention. Our school needs intervention and this platform is one of the best.”
